ICS-SOLO Laser Interlock® Controller
Description
The ICS-SOLO is a low-cost, dual-channel laser safety interlock controller ideal for laser treatment rooms in the medical and cosmetics industries. It is a single-input, single-output laser safety controller typically used in small laser safety enclosures with a single door, controlling a single laser. The ICS-SOLO is a dual-channel device, meaning two input switches must both be closed for the laser to be enabled.
This is achieved using Lasermet’s dual-channel door interlock switch. The ICS-SOLO features a simple, easy-to-use control panel that can be wired directly to the dual-channel switch on the interlocked door, as well as to the laser, keyswitch, emergency stops, and LED warning sign.
Using The Interlock
Enter and Secure the Enclosure
- Enter the enclosure and firmly close the door.
- The dual-channel door switch will engage, ensuring that the laser remains disabled if the door is open.
Verify Safety Status
- Check the interlock controller panel.
- Confirm that the Safety OK status LEDs are illuminated, indicating that all safety conditions are met.
Arm the Laser
- Turn the Keyswitch to the “Enable” position.
- Press the “Arm Laser” button to initiate the arming process
Confirm Laser Readiness
- Look for the System Armed LED to illuminate.
- Once lit, the laser is fully armed and ready for operation.
- Following these steps guarantees that the laser is activated safely and correctly.
