Lasermet’s One With Nature Tree Planting Activity

Due to the rapid increase in climate change and flooding, Lasermet decided that this year would be the perfect time to conduct a tree planting activity as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility. The activity was organized at GKG Farm in Cansiguiring, Carmen, Cebu. It was a great opportunity for us to connect with nature and contribute to protecting the environment.

Trees produce the oxygen we need to breathe and help reduce stormwater runoff, which prevents erosion and pollution in our waterways and may help mitigate the effects of flooding. Many wildlife species also rely on trees for food, shelter, and habitat. By planting trees in our communities, we not only enhance the environment but also improve the quality of life for residents, providing cleaner air and green spaces where they are most needed. Additionally, tree planting enhances forests’ ability to capture carbon, helping reduce climate change impacts and improving air quality.

Despite the hot weather and hiking during our activity, it was incredibly fulfilling to plant 100 trees on the farm. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the GKG Farm Cebu Team for assisting us and making it a memorable experience. I believe our tree-planting experience was truly impactful, benefiting not only the environment but future generations as well.
